DC附近(Columbia plaza)的生活购物小指南 (资料来源是本地人)
Everything is very convenient in this neighborhood. You can walk to most places. For the places you can't walk to, you can take the Metro (the subway). For taking the Metro, I'd recommend buying a SmarTrip Card, which you can buy online or at CVS. There are also a lot of taxis that drive around this area. Those can take you anywhere, but they are more expensive, especially for long distances
Here's a list of places you can buy things you might need
Grocery Stores:
There are two good places to buy groceries.
Trader Joe's - This store has good, inexpensive food.
Whole Foods - This store is more expensive, but has fresher meats and seafood.
Convenience/Drug Store:
CVS - This is where you can buy necessities. There are lots of these stores in the neighborhood.
Walgreens - Similar to CVS, but I like CVS better.
Hardware Store:
District Hardware
Clothing/Shoe Stores:
Georgetown - You can walk here. This is the nearest place with a lot of clothing stores. Most of them are on M St. NW and on Wisconsin Ave. NW. Here is a list of the stores that are over there.
Pentagon City Mall - You have to take the Metro (subway) to get here. This is a more traditional shopping mall, with all of the stores in one big building. Here is a list of the stores at the mall.
Downtown - You can walk or Metro here. Here is a list of the clothing stores over there
Chinese Food:
Chinatownhas a lot of Chinese restaurants.
Meiwah
There are probably a lot more Chinese restaurants than these, but these are the only ones we've been to.
Entertainment:
There are movie theaters here and here.
Most of the free museums are along this stretch of grass
